2008 - 2017

2008

St Mary’s celebrates its 120th birthday. Mrs Fargher resigns after 9 years as headmistress of St Mary’s.

2009

Ms Deanne King is the new headmistress. The school by now has a formidable reputation in all sports, and is seen as the school to beat by other schools. These sports are athletics, basketball, diving, equestrian, hockey, netball, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, squash, swimming, tennis and water polo.

The school decides to drop the “for Girls” from its name and becomes simply St Mary’s School.

2013

Ms King introduces a new system of school leadership where every matric girl has the opportunity to be a leader or deputy leader of a school portfolio, society, activity or sport.

St Mary’s celebrates its 125th year and publishes Celebrating 125 Years of St Mary’s, a comprehensive history of the school, to mark this milestone.

2016

The school purchases a house that abuts the property, and converts it into a new boarding house called Woodwinds. Its gate opens onto the path alongside the AstroTurf and faces the new hockey pavilion, also built in 2016. The staff's accomodation is renovated.
