The year-long journey of Confirmation ended last week, when we held our Confirmation service. The Confirmation service is a special occasion for the confirmands and their families. In confirmation, we are not just joining a club, becoming a church member or being given a name. In Baptism and Confirmation, we are given the strengthening gift of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described by Paul in 1 Corinthians 12. These gifts are reflections of God’s grace expressed through individuals by the power of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Steve Moreo was the president and presider at the service. In his homily, he spoke about the joys of life in Christ with the girls.

The service of confirmation is a reminder that we will never be without any of the gifts of the Spirit.
