The new term brings with it many hopes and desires. To do more and be more, however, we are limited by time and space. It can be difficult to accept these limitations. In Mark 12, verses 41 to 44, we read the story of Jesus and his disciples observing people in the temple. They saw rich people giving large amounts and a poor widow who came and put in two tiny copper coins worth only a few cents. Jesus called his disciples and said, "Truly I tell you; this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything, all she had to live on" (Mark 12:43-44).

This question comes to mind; can you be content with what you have to give? This question is not just about giving in material terms but also giving of ourselves. "It's a giving of ourselves when the situation presents itself. You know, it's not about some kind of you being asked a mystical trick question. But rather knowing what we have and be willing to hand it over" (Br. Jonathan Maury SSJE, 2014). Sometimes we desire and wish to give more but cannot give more. We must accept and embrace our limitations. Jesus’ words taught his disciples the importance of being content with what they have to give. Jesus’ message is also for us, we must learn to be content with what we have to give.
