The April holidays were a busy time in the diving community. Not only were there South African Junior Nationals and South African Senior Nationals but there was also the Dresden International Youth Meet held in Dresden, Germany. The divers gained lots of experience and the girls pulled out some of the best results that South African diving has ever achieved.

Emma Campbell (Form II), Keratile Manaka (Form III) and Zalika Methula (Form IV) participated in the Nationals from 11-16 April in Durban. Emma competed in the U16 age group for 1m and placed 2nd in her event.

Keratile competed in both Junior and Senior Nationals. For Junior Nationals - in the U18 age group - in synchronized diving Keratile and her partner placed1st, she placed 5th in her 1m final, 4th in the 3m final and 3rd in the platform. For Senior Nationals, Keratile placed 7th on 3m and 5th on the platform.

Zalika also competed in both Junior and Senior Nationals. Her Junior Nationals results were impressive as she came 1st on 1m, 1st on 3m, and 2nd on the platform. This meant that Zalika won the title of best U18 diver in the country. She then went on to compete in Senior Nationals where she came 3rd in 1m, 4th in the 3m final, 3rd on platform and 1st in synchronized diving.

Zalika and Keratile then went on to represent South Africa in Dresden, Germany at the International Youth Meet. Keratile competed in the U18 synchronized diving where she and her partner came 10th. Zalika wrote history in her 1m competition where she placed 5th out of 36 divers in the preliminary event and finished 11th overall. She also competed in the 3m event where she placed 27th.

A huge congratulations go out to all the divers on their achievements.
