St Mary’s head of tennis, René Plant, will be travelling to London to attend the Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. René, who formerly played in the championships as both a junior and senior player, will attend in the capacity of a tennis coach for the first time. She will be coaching and assisting South Africa’s number one wheelchair player, Kgothatso Montjane, for her Wimbledon campaign. René will also be training Kgothatso for the week leading up to the event.
She recently completed and passed the ITF Level 3 coaching exam which is the highest certification a tennis coach can achieve and is recognized worldwide.
