Imbokodo book launch

On Tuesday 24 May, our Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 girls, and our Form I and II girls had the honour of meeting Athambile Masola and Xolisa Guzula, authors of Imbokodo: Women Who Shape Us. Imbokodo is a groundbreaking series of books which introduces the reader to the powerful stories of South African women who have all made their mark and cleared a path for women and girls. These books recognise, acknowledge, and honour our heroines and elders from the past and the present.
The launch was a youthful affair with extracts read by our girls from the authors’ books in English, Afrikaans, Sesotho, and isiZulu. The afternoon was celebration of reading, marimbas and the importance of books.
