Book buffet in the resource centre

When it comes to reading, just like eating, some kids have fussier palates than others. We piqued their appetites for a good read with a book tasting. This activity gave students the opportunity to sample some juicy reads in a short period and come away with a wish list of titles.
The set-up in the Resource Centre was buffet style where pupils could make an assortment of choices. The girls spent a few minutes checking out the front and back cover, reading the inside flaps, and browsing the book for a first impression. When the allocated time was up, students wrote down observations and made note of whether or not they wanted to add the book to their wish list.
