On Wednesday 10 March, the Form IIs participated in a business simulation day facilitated by the Johannesburg School of Finance. They were divided into teams that formed their own businesses and competed against one another to gain the most profit. The “weather” plays a very important role. A dice is rolled to determine what the weather will be for the next round and supply and demand are evident to ensure that each business will make profit and sell out all their products. In each round of the simulation game, the teams make important pricing, marketing and purchasing decisions. After each round, decisions are fed into a computer programme that has been designed to recreate a “real life” market environment and produce instant results. Based on their results teams had to make adjustments to their strategies for the next round. The winning team is the one that can out-strategise the competition over the four rounds played.
The girls had a fun-filled day.

Congratulations to the winning team “Blissful” who made a whopping R42 501 profit for their business.
