Geography

The Form II girls have been studying gender inequality issues as part of the Geography content. They watched the Queen of Katwe film, which they found inspirational. This film set the scene to study issues girls face regarding education, discrimination and other challenges. Case studies and YouTube clips which focused on early marriage and female foeticide were discussed, and the section culminated in the girls being asked to design an appropriate logo and visual material for a T-shirt to create an awareness of these issues. This demanded critical thinking, creative input and methodical planning on their part.
