We have had a number of girls join the new hockey craze, Hockey 5s: 5s is the latest format of the game that has been introduced to create a shortened version of the game, aligning with other international sports codes such as T20 cricket, Sevens rugby, soccer 5s and fast 5s netball. For hockey, the attraction is that the games are short, fast, the ball does not go out and you can score from anywhere. Everybody is continually involved and has to work hard.

The first U14 league has been completed, but the U15s and older girls are still playing. The U14s won their semi-final 19-2 and the final to win the Southerns Trappers League 11-4. Emma Brink was the top goal-scorer, with 53 goals to her name.
