In Grade 5 divinity, we have been studying the Stations Of The Cross. As a school we are privileged to have three sets of the Stations Of The Cross.

Veronica reaches out from the crowd to wipe the face of Jesus, which is a brave act of love, amidst the hostile crowd. She points to Jesus as a reminder that, when we reach out to others in need, we are reaching out to Him. The cloth becomes transparent as Christ’s face is imprinted on it.

Above is station six of the three sets. Viewing all three sets side by side has enriched our learning. The depth of our discussion ranged from addressing questions about what Jesus looked like and why some people in the paintings are blue, to exploring artistic expression and its importance, and questions of sin and why Jesus had to die.
