Any time is a good time for a book or story!
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for reading morning! It was so lovely to see you reading to your girls, bonding with them, and building your relationships.

Reading and sharing stories can:

  • familliarise your child with sounds, words, and language, and encourage the development of early literacy skills
  • learn to value books and stories
  • spark your child’s imagination and stimulate curiosity
  • develop your child’s brain, her ability to focus, her concentration, and her social and communication skills
  • help your child discern the difference between what is ‘real’ and what is ‘make-believe’’
  • help your child understand new or frightening events, and the strong emotions that accompany them
  • increase your child’s understanding of the world, her own culture and other cultures

Just by looking at books with your child and talking about them, you can become a great storyteller and encourage the development of your child’s vocabulary, imagination and empathy.
