“No Family drops from heaven perfectly formed; families need to constantly grow and mature in the ability to love… all of us are called to keep striving towards something greater than ourselves and our families, and every family must feel this constant impulse. Let us make this journey as families, let us keep walking together. (…) May we never lose heart because of our limitations, or never stop seeking that fulness of love and communion which God holds out before us” (Pope Francis -AL 325)

This week as a school, we joined the girls in giving thanks to God for their families. Returning in thanksgiving to Almighty God for families is hugely important and has a long history. Scripture is filled with examples of people returning to God to give thanks. It is a tradition that is important to pass on to the girls. We often turn to God in times of need.

In gathering for family day services, we are showing and teaching the girls that we also need to turn to God to give thanks. Bring your supplications and thanksgiving to God, says St Paul. We rejoiced with the girls in song, poetry and a little dancing.
