Grade 3 News

The Grade 3s wrote colour poems and shape poems in their creative writing lesson. A colour poem allows a writer to present different images about a particular colour. These poems use similes and the different senses (sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell) to describe colours. Each line of a colour poem focuses on a different sense and each line contains an image that describes the colour.
