St Stithians night gala

The A swimming team participated in the St Stithians night gala on Wednesday 13 February. We swam against ten schools in the 50m pool. It was wet and rainy but that did not dampen the spirits of our young swimmers. It was most exciting to watch the girls swim their hearts out for their school and their team. St Mary’s won the gala, beating St Andrew’s who were second, St Peter’s third and St Stithians who were fourth. Three of our girls won their 50m individual races: Caitlin Dube in Grade 4 won her breaststroke race, Kiera Cloete (vice-captain) won her breaststroke race and Natasha Jenkins (captain) won her freestyle race. The results were as follows:
- 1st St Mary’s 404
- 2nd St Andrew’s 359
- 3rd St Peter’s Girls 351
- 4th St Stithians GP A 347
- 5th Kingsmead 256.5
- 6th Apps 207
- 7th Brescia 198
- 8th St Katharine’s 195.5
- 9th Holy Rosary 171
- 10th Roedean 150
