Junior School - Mandela day

The Grade 7s put on a fabulous gratitude tea on 18 July for Mandela Day, to thank our campus and service staff for all that they do. All staff enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea and delicious treats.
While the staff were being entertained by Little Saints and our choir, the Grade 4, 5 and 6 girls all took on a new role and completed the staff duties for 67 minutes. They cleaned classrooms, swept, dusted, emptied dustbins, picked up leaves and litter. The school sparkled after the 67 minutes and the girls actually had fun while completing the tasks. The Grade 4s and Grade 6s also donated boxes of tea and bags of sugar. These items were handed out to each staff member. The pupils from Little Saints decorated gift bags and filled them with everyday items like soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand cream etc. Each staff member received a gift bag. The Grade 3 pupils all made beautiful placemats that were placed at each table setting for the staff members.
The Grade 0, 1 and 2 pupils decorated brown paper lunch bags and filled them with yummy sandwiches which they actually made themselves at school that morning. The girls were then asked to hand the bags out to needy persons on their way home from school.
