The children started to show an interest in birds and feathers. We have looked at various birds and started to do some observational drawings. The children have looked closely at the shape and size of the birds. When it comes to painting the birds, they carefully look at the various colours in the wings, body, beak and tail. The children have worked hard and a lot of progress can be seen in the quality of their drawings. We have also looked at the link between our previous topic of trees, and how birds and trees relate. Birds are all around us and we have also wondered how they fly, how are their bodies designed for flight. We have drawn some of our theories and we continue to wonder about birds as we head into the August holidays.
