During the collaborative week, the girls investigated the physical and emotional wellbeing of athletes as well as various other aspects including nutrition, exercise plans and muscle conditioning to obtain optimum outcomes.

The girls were introduced to the Olympic theme by Ros Howell who shared her experiences at the Athens Olympics. The girls then divided themselves into groups and had a chose any Olympic sports discipline that interested them. They compiled a presentation on their sports discipline and included the nutrition need to compete in their sport, fitness routines, daily programmes, coaches and sports equipment needed by the athletes.

They attended talks presented by a nutritionist, a coach of the South African rowing team, a four times Olympic hockey umpire and a young athlete aspiring to become part of the South African Olympic swimming team. They also had to complete various physical activities including aerobics. They had to research the muscle groups they learned about and paste them on an outline of their bodies.

With the knowledge they gained during the week, they had to design a brand new Olympic sport. They had to come up with a name, a logo, a strip and rules for their new sport. They then had to plan a training programme for athletes to follow. They could present their sport in any format but the logo and strip had to be clearly displayed.
