To the class of 2023

I congratulate you on behalf of the community of St Mary’s School. Your matric results are excellent and worthy of celebration. I hope that you will all reflect on the years that you have spent in school and your personal growth over this time. Each of you has a deeply personal story of your time in school and your significant development that has culminated in these results. My wish is that you will now face the next chapter of your education with courage and with confidence in your ability to think, to question and to work diligently towards your desired reward.

Your class has achieved 323 distinctions, with 92% of the group achieving an average above 60%. There are seven outstanding IEB achievers, one commendable achiever and 36 placings in the top 1% of candidates per subject. There are also individuals who have achieved a personal best result in these important final examinations.

It is a privilege to have known your group and to have observed your moving through Senior School nurturing your interests and talents, together with enjoying school life. I thank you for your unifying leadership of our school in 2023.
