The Resource Centre supports educational goals and provides information that is fundamental to functioning successfully in today's society, which is increasingly information- and knowledge-based.

We provide print and electronic research and leisure reading resources that enable all members of the school community to become critical thinkers and effective users of information, in all formats and media. An Internet-based catalogue enables users to globally access items 24/7.

Girls are taught research skills, including correct referencing procedures. St Mary’s boasts a digital library of downloadable e-books and audiobooks in various languages, which may be borrowed and read on smartphones, PCs, laptops, eReaders and all tablets such as iPads. This complements the school’s print collection of over 15 000 items.

We also have an online book club, electronic displays and continual news channel updates. All magazines and newspapers are digitally available on iPads.

The entire Resource Centre is wireless-connected and learners are encouraged to bring their devices while working in the centre, which also has Windows and Apple Mac computers for learners to move between the two platforms.

Digital Library

The Digital Library of e-books and audiobooks complements our print collection. The only requirement is a device, an Internet connection and a library card number. You can download onto computers and various mobile devices.

The Digital Library is available 24/7. You manage your own account by adding items into your cart, choosing your issue period, reserving items, creating a wishlist of future reads and many other functions. The items are automatically returned to the digital library when the issue date expires and you are kept informed of the time left: no more lost, overdue or late-return fines.
