Support and counselling

Support and counselling
St Mary’s has a counselling and careers centre named The Open Door. It takes a holistic and preventative approach, and runs numerous group sessions and workshops.
The Open Door team works holistically
to ensure the children’s well-being, collaborating with staff and private therapists (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, remedial, and speech and language therapy).
It participates in weekly therapy and termly care and concern meetings. The team is in daily contact with teachers, and sometimes observes in classrooms and on the playground. It provides emotional screenings and parent guidance, and can assist with referrals to outside professionals in the scope of learning and development.
Informative Muse Mornings are hosted for parents during the term, where relevant issues are discussed.
Health Centre
St Mary’s School has a well-equipped health centre with two experienced, qualified school nurses. Our nurses provide superb care for all children who are ill or injured, and they inform parents and girls about seasonal viruses and other contagious diseases.
Their focus is not only on healing; they also promote healthy living and eating campaigns in both the Junior and Senior Schools.
