One of the wonderful aspects of working with the Grade 7 chapel servers is hearing their heartfelt reasons for choosing this role.

Discussions about chapel and being a server are vital, as they teach us to have grace with ourselves and each other, especially when we make mistakes. After an initial misstep, we learn and try again.
Here are some of the reasons shared by the 2025 chapel servers:

“I wanted to strengthen my relationship with God. Being a chapel server was a new opportunity for me to do this, while learning more about chapel and from the experience of others. It was also about finding like-minded people.”

“I wanted to deepen my faith.”

“My older sister was a chapel server.”

“I was curious and interested in the practical side of being a chapel server. Being part of the procession at the start of the Eucharist and wearing the white robes are some of the things that attracted me.”

“I decided that I wanted to grow spiritually this year, grow in my understanding of scripture, and I wanted to have people around me doing the same.”

“I see the chapel as a holy space. Coming from a Christian home, being a server is another way for me to practise my faith. I was also inspired by others.”

These reflections highlight the diverse motivations and personal experiences of our chapel servers.
