From the PTA

The annual PTA golf day was held on 9 October at the Parkview Golf Course. Old Mutual was again the key sponsor and we thank them for their continued sponsorship of this well-supported event. The day began with a shotgun start and golfers were eager to get going. The evening’s festivities were enhanced by our amazing MC Ed Jordan, extremely funny comedian Martin Jonas, and an awesome array of prizes.

The PTA thanks all parents involved in the golf day, in particular the golf day sub-committee: Gloria Mamba, Nthime Khoele, Bruce Patience, Monique Wilkinson, Mark Pardini, Gregg Davies and Paul Breedvelt who took care of formalities ahead of the day. Thanks are also extended to Zelda Coutts and Justine Piccolo for making the prizes look amazing.

We also had great support from school moms who managed registration in the morning, welcomed our golfers, set them off at their relevant tee-off holes and packed and handed out goodie bags. Thank you too to Julie Herold for arranging fabulous auction items, tagging along on the drinks cart and for her support on the day. Our drinks cart drivers Chris Mercer and Wayne van Vuuren were hard at work again this year ensuring that golfers were well hydrated. The golf day would not have been the success it was if it were not for our generous and ongoing sponsors who once again provided items for the goodie bags, prizes, raffles and the auction – thank you!

If you have been wondering what the PTA is planning to do with money raised from the MySchool Card and Club 100, I am pleased to inform you that, following much research and discussion, the PTA will be buying the school a new 40-seater bus. The bus will be used to transport girls to co-curricular activities and on outings, will ease the pressure on the two aging school buses and will help lighten the expense of external bus hire.

We are confident that the bus will benefit all the girls in the school. Support this initiative by continuing to swipe your MySchool Card and by joining Club 100. We are hoping to present the bus to the school by the end of next year.

If you don’t have a MySchool Card please contact Lisa Grobbelaar at lisa.grobbelaar@ Try to get grannies, aunts and uncles a card too, if they don’t already have one.
