After two terms and 12 gruelling rounds of SACEE League debates, St Mary’s exceeded expectations and qualified to both the SACEE Championships at St David’s and the SACEE Development League Championships at Crawford Sandton on Saturday 3 August. As the only school with three teams in to the semi-final rounds of the SACEE Championships, St Mary’s displayed excellent skill but were, unfortunately, knocked out. Both the junior and senior teams secured places in the top four teams of their respective leagues. The junior development team fought hard but was knocked out at the quarter-final stage of their league.
The senior and junior open break teams have been invited to participate in the Gauteng Schools’ Debating Board Championships in Term III, while the junior plate break team and the junior development team will be participating in the Hemlock Cup tournament in Term III. Congratulations to all the teams for their hard work and dedication and thank you to the staff and St Mary’s pupils for their support.
