The philosophy of our Careers and Counselling Centre encompasses an holistic and preventative approach. Our highly qualified team consists of Educational Psychologists, Heidi Burkhalter and Caroline von Bardeleben, Careers Counsellor, Lynn Moony and intern Educational Psychologist, Lollie Smith. Parents and girls who require support or assistance are welcome to set up an appointment with any members of The Open Door  team.
We work closely with the Form Tutors and the Life Orientation Department to ensure the well-being of each of our girls. We provide emotional assessment and support, parent guidance, as well as teacher support and can assist with referrals to outside psychologists and other professionals where indicated.
Muse Mornings are hosted in SMOGS Cottage, twice a term, where psychologists in the community are invited to discuss relevant parenting issues. The dates and topics of the Muse Mornings are advertised in the Term Calendar and in the newsletters. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these informative discussions.
