SOCS

SOCS is the acronym for the Sisters of Christ Society. We meet for prayer and spiritual support in a faith-based, Christian context. We base our weekly meetings on a theme which may run for as long as a term. Frequently guest speakers bring fresh and relevant perspectives. In many sessions we have discussions around the topic for the day and on some occasions we do completely different and exciting things! When the opportunity presents itself, our girls invite neighbouring schools to join us or attend meetings at neighbouring schools.

The Committee raises funds and decides how these funds should be spent. SOCS organizes Civvies Days, Cake and Candy sales and raffles to raise funds. There are many worthy causes which we support with the money we raise.

Prayer meetings are held once a week in the Chapel in the early mornings. Strong relationships are developed during this time as we support one another in our faith and in prayer. This is a wonderful time to extend our walk with Christ.

Both SOCS meetings and the prayer meetings are voluntary and these are well supported by the St Mary’s girls. God is definitely moving in the School and it is exciting to be a part of His incredible work.
