The St Mary’s Interact Club falls under the umbrella body of Rotary International and more specifically under the Parktonian Rotary Club. The Club is run by a Board of Form IV girls, consisting of the President, Vice-President and Board members. Each Board member has a portfolio to fulfil for the year and is responsible for execution of at least one original project during the year.
At weekly meetings the Interact members discuss initiatives which they would like to become involved in and plan the execution of these projects. They may also spend their meeting time working on a given project, for example knitting squares for blankets or cleaning litter in the areas surrounding the school.
The Club visits charities of their choice during the year and on occasions they join with other Interact Clubs from neighbouring schools to complete a project or participate in leadership training.
The Interact Club provides a wonderful opportunity for girls from Form I to Form IV to become actively involved in serving the broader community which remains a priority at our School.
