St Mary's Winning Artists

Art girls from St Mary's School, Waverley dominated this year's Design-An-Ad Competition. Forty one schools participated in the competition and St Mary's had 7 finalists and won one of the three Teachers' prizes. Danielle Khoury, a Grade 12 pupil, was the winner of the front page design. She finished as a finalist of semi-finalist three times in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and this year won the first prize of a R60 000 to study at the Design School of South Africa. 

Grade 11 pupil, Georgia Came, won the Grade 10-12 category with her advert for Sweets from Heaven. 
Clare Walker in Grade 8 was 3^rd in the Grade 8-9 category with her advert for Pick n Pay featuring dog food.
Other St Mary's finalists were Holly Robson, Daniela Caetano, Ailsa Mackay and Georgina Frost.
