St Mary’s has a  Counselling and Careers Centre,The Open Door. Our philosophy is centred on an holistic and preventative approach. To this end, we run numerous groups and workshops on an ongoing basis in both the Junior and Senior schools.

In the Junior School, our learning support team is headed up by Educational Psychologist, Heidi Burkhalter who works closely with Caroline von Bardeleben (Educational Psychologist) and Lollie Smith (intern Educational Psychologist).  We work closely with all members of the School in the area of learning and development. Our role is to collaborate with members of staff and private therapists (Occupational, Physiotherapy, Remedial and Speech and Language), to ensure the well-being of each of our girls.

Muse Mornings are hosted in SMOGS Cottage, twice a term, where psychologists in the community are invited to discuss relevant parenting issues with parents. You are encouraged to attend these informative discussions. You are also more than welcome to consult with us around your daughter’s emotional well being.
