Grade 6 is a year where the girls grow in confidence, independence and responsibility. They are taught by caring and committed teachers who encourage them to develop their strengths, to stand united and work together as a team. The girls are exposed to the dynamic benefits of Interactive Whiteboard lessons.
The year begins with the Grade 6 tour to Kloofwaters. The adrenalin is at an all-time high as the girls scale rock faces, hike through unspoilt forests, do exciting team-building activities and enjoy hours of fun sliding down the bumslides! It is a safe environment where the girls have the opportunity to form new and cement old friendships. They learn about the night sky and have the opportunity to experience bird ringing as they gain knowledge of the birds in the Magaliesberg. The girls participate in times of devotion where they hear the Word of God and have the opportunity to sing songs of praise. The girls are accompanied by three members of staff from St Mary's and the youth leaders facilitate the group activities.
