SENIOR PRIMARY PHASE

Bridging

As the girls move into the Senior Primary phase, they are expected to be more responsible for their own learning. They have a class teacher who guides and nurtures them through the day and they enjoy the expertise of specialist teachers in many areas of the curriculum.

At the start of Grade 4, girls may select Sesotho and drop either Afrikaans or isiZulu.
Formal Assessments are introduced at this level. In their first term of Senior Primary, study skills and assessment techniques are introduced to support their learning and lessen anxiety prior to writing any assessments.

Grade 4 girls enjoy their first school tour, spending two nights with their teachers away from home. Buddy picnics take place twice a term. This is an occasion where groups of girls from each grade share conversation and spend time together.

Prior to moving into the Senior Primary, the girls meet their teachers and are introduced to the Grade 4 model of learning.
