Grade 7 is an exciting year. It signals the end of the girls time in the Junior School and is therefore a challenging but memorable year.
 |
The girls are given many more responsibilities and they develop their life skills and leadership skills through the 'Making the Most of Me' Programme. This programme encourages the girls to take responsibility for their own learning and to be reliable, caring and enthusiastic members of society. The girls are given guidance to achieve the goals that they set out for themselves at the beginning of the year. The academic work in Grade 7 challenges the girls to fulfill their potential but they are well prepared to cope with the challenge. They are encouraged to manage their time effectively and to take advantage of the activities available. These include academic, sporting and cultural activities. |
The girls go on a few trips during the year. The Grahamstown Festival is definitely a highlight. The girls get a chance to watch shows, develop their art, music and drama skills, shop and meet new people. This is a most memorable and worthwhile journey.
The girls also go to Kloofwaters where they have an opportunity to learn more about leadership, working together and making the most of themselves. They partake in community service activities. |

The girls also enjoy organizing their houses for sports days, giving up their time for charity, working on their different committees and preparing for Market Day. This is a busy but fun filled year and they embrace it with enthusiasm.
There are always mixed feelings at the end of the year. The girls are sad to be leaving but excited about the future. As a final 'good bye', they attend the Leaver's Dinner. This is a delightful evening, which focuses on the girls' achievements and memories of school. They enjoy decorating their own tables and sharing the evening with teachers, parents and friends. They look back fondly upon all the learning and social experiences they have encountered during their Grade 7 year. |
