Grade 5 is a fun and exciting year for all. The girls work hard. They grow physically, mentally and emotionally.
The girls are encouraged to become more independent. They should unpack their own bags everyday and write down their own homework. They are encouraged to take more responsibility for their work, doing their own homework and performance tasks.
This year the girls went on tour to Lapalala in the Limpopo Province. This excursion gives them hands-on experience of Natural Science, Social Science, English and Life Orientation. The girls get to know each other and their teachers for the year and experience goes a long way in developing their independence. The girls love it!
The girls do not write examinations in Grade 5. They do, however have a busy test schedule and are encouraged to manage their time and prepare well for these tests.
This is an age where we expect quite a few friendship issues, but the girls are encouraged to resolve these themselves, as this is part of growing up. This is a difficult year emotionally for the girls and we ask you to bear with them as they start their journey into adolescence.
